This weekend’s second annual SEPHORiA conference was a wonderland for beauty lovers, and lovers of the Sephora. The two-day event welcomed consumers to interact with some of their favorite Sephora-housed brands through creative activations, meet and greets, and vanity services. There were also masterclasses with professional makeup artists, skincare experts, as well as with CEOs and brand founders.
While the crowd eagerly welcomed the skin and makeup goodies and the experiences, many ladies came already dripping in the swag of unique eye color trends, dewy faces, and cute curls. It was an affirmation of Sephora’s newest manifesto, We Belong to Something Beautiful.
Whether they were clean-faced, done up with more than a dozen products on their faces, or somewhere in between, Black women showed up like melanin goddesses, equipping themselves with tools to enhance their Black girl magic. Under the glow of the pink, blue, and golden lights of the venue, their melanin-rich skin looked as radiant as ever, reminding us that with or without enhancement, Black beauty rocks.
